We are proud to have reaffirmed our commitment to climate protection through a significant donation. This generous contribution equates to offsetting an impressive 100 tons of CO2. It was crucial for us that our donation has not only global but also local tangible impacts. Therefore, we deliberately chose a project in Lower Saxony. Through this regional focus, we can help reduce environmental impact in our immediate surroundings while also making a contribution to global climate protection.
THE IDEA
Preserve moors and protect the climate!
The desire for a climate-neutral way of life is increasingly felt in our society. Our actions, whether in everyday life or in the economy, produce greenhouse gases that are harmful to the climate, especially carbon dioxide (CO2). If too many of these gases are released into the atmosphere, this causes the temperature on our planet to rise, which has a negative impact on our existence. Despite all efforts, a climate-neutral lifestyle is very difficult to achieve – sometimes it is impossible to avoid traveling (for work) or consuming products whose production caused CO2.
The Moorland® project by BUND Diepholzer Moorniederung aims to restore moorlands in Lower Saxony, vital for carbon sequestration and climate stability. Our support through a Moorland® KlimaSpende facilitates the crucial rewetting of climate moors, mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. This restoration effort not only safeguards the climate but also preserves unique habitats for diverse wildlife.
